McDonald's Shares Warning: Vegan Diet Doubled in UK & Germany

Interest In Vegan Diets Doubles in UK, Germany, Israel, and Romania says Vegfest UK Expo London Olympia | SourceWire
Profit warning for brands reliant on beef, cheese and milk.sales as Google trends quite clearly shows a massive upward climb in searches for vegan and vegan diets. This phenomena is happening all over the world and started in 2011. The steepest climbs on Google Trends are in the UK, Germany, Israel and in Romania. In Romania the trend goes a step further than just veganism and is trending for the search term Raw Vegan.
Of course a search on google doesn't intent but it proves popularity and interest and there are other marker's too. A manufacturer of meat free alternatives has reported 30% increase in sales since the begining of the year. A manufacturer of vegan chocolate has reported "never ever being so busy and is getting orders from all over the world"

Meanwhile the UK Vegan Society report double the number of pledges on their online vegan pledge campaign and a Vegan Pledge event in London has doubled the numbers this year from their event last year.

We met a young Hugh Grant doppleganger the other night who had just sold his multimillion pound vegan shoe company to start again with a new brand. His strategy is to produce shoes at the same quality and coolness as the high street shoesellers but make them 100% vegan, and better value and this time with all his own money rather than relying  so heavily on investers

Meanwhile vegan cupcake sellers are springing up like starbucks and cost. Ocado are trying to plug the gap in the market for dairy free and eggfree vegan cake but it seems unstoppable. Even Disney sells vegan cakes now.

Certainly one to watch.

Launch: Vegan Monster Burger Better Than Meat

Hotel and Contract Caterering News

40 Years of Loch Ness Marked with 'Better Than Meat' Vegan Diet Burger | PRLog

Better than meat burgers - new vegan diet alternative recipe

A new Monster Vegan Burger said to be better than meat has been launched by McDonalds to celebrate 40 years of the Loch Ness Monster Project. The Sea Horse flavour dairy free cheeseburger suitable for those on a vegan diet and made with a secret vegan recipe approved by both the Vegetarian Society and The Vegan Society that is rich in omega 3 DHA and EPA

It's being launched in response to reports by Vegfest UK London, Veggie and Vegan Societies and google that there is a 40% increase in demand for vegan diet foods

It's said to be unconnected with the Dutch launch of the new Mc2 burger by a Dutch Vegan Butcher and also said to be better than meat.

A London Nutritionist says "The recipe is higher in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and omega 3 DHA and EPA than beefburgers and hamburgers"

Trending: Vegan Diets: Up 40% on Google

UK Vegan Explosion – Vegan diet interest averaging 30-40% points higher on Google in 2013 | PRLog

If your product or service is even remotely a prospective interest to a target audience interested in health, sustainability or ethics such as fair trade and your products is free from (or could be free from) animal derivatives then you should get yourself along to http://www.london.vegfest.co.uk

VegfestUK celebrates  its 10th Anniversary this year and has added an exhibition at Kensington Olympia in London to celebrate. The Vegfest UK festival in Brighton a few weeks ago enjoyed visitor numbers up from 5,000 last year to 7,500 this year. The Vegan Society and Vegetarian Society report similar increases in interest.

Vegan everything - even blue cheese, caviar and smoked salmon

If ever you or your clients ever contemplated taking that little bit of dairy, or egg or gelatine out of your product - that 1% that stops it being vegan, kosher or halal then now is probably the time.

The horsemeat scandal seems to somehow have been a catalyst for a national review on what we eat and why we eat it, maybe it was just that people shied away from beef products until the dust settle and meantime found some of the vegetarian products actually tasted better than cheap processed meat?

Either way there is a vegan revolution boiling over and rising up worldwide and if you have a suitable product you should be showcasing it at Vegfest London. There are still a few exhibitor spaces left ( 10% off if you book by the end of March - so hurry! ) and one or two opportunities to sponsor things like the kids area and the celebrity Vegfest Awards.

Either way there has never been a better time to consider targetting 100% of the market rather than just 60% of it (Vegsoc and World Vegan Day research shows over 40% of the market regularly eat a vegetarian or vegan diet dish and most would prefer to more often if it was better quality and more convenient)

Ikea sells Vegan Caviar , The Redwood Wholefood Company sells fish free Vegan 'smoked salmon' and a delicious creamy vegan blue cheese. Vegusto sells award winning gourmet dairy free swiss cheeses.Vegan ice cream and yoghurts are sold by all supermarkets. Linda McCartney sells vegetarian prawns and innovative vegan food scientists set their sights higher every day.

Twitter Guru Biz Stone is touting a new vegan meat in the USA said to be indistinguisable from chicken and Microsoft legend Bill Gates has been caught on camera saying that he believes a meat free world is no longer a futuristic vegan fantasy.

Hold on to your pig's butt bacon sandwiches boys and girls! Soon it could be bacon made with a soy, quinoa and amaranth meat free substitute!

Trader on the BBC Market will crash

Goldman Sachs runs the world not governments, they don't care about the economy.

Markets will crash, savings will be decimated, financial situation is like cancer - do nothing and die.

The stock market is toast.

Lots of money to be made if you know what you are doing.

Are Governments just throwing money into the pockets of traders? Of course it's a premeditated Eton Mess!

Lord Sugar as Father Christmas?
Global Entrepreneurship Week

Rumours are that Lord Alan Sugar is to play Santa Claus at a major London Retail outlet this Christmas are unconfirmed.

"It was only a matter of time before someone suggested Lord Sugar was only missing the hat to play father Christmas at Harrods or Selfridges" said Tony Bishop-Weston from PEA PR this week "personally I'd love to see Mayor of London Boris Johnson as a vegetarian elf looking after the Reindeer"

Meanwhile leading entrepreneurs in the field of sustainably produced toxin and fish free omega 3 DHA EPA supplements, V Pure, have left London for the home counties as the exodus from London of jobs and London based businesses continues.

Spokesperson for V-Pure Omega 3 Simon Worth believes that the days for fish oil as a food ingredient are numbered due to problems of sustainability, toxicity, economic viability and price, threatened reduced subsidies for the fishing industry, public concern over the environment, fishy taste and the rise in popularity of NGOs such as
The Sea First Foundation and their film Sea The Truth

'Sustainably farmed algal oil is a far more logical and economically viable source of toxin and fish free, long chain essential omega 3 fats DHA and EPA long term.' he says.

Spotted: BNI West One London Nutritionists on LBC Radio

Healthy Eating & Nutrition News:

BNI's Tony Bishop-Weston from Foods for Life Health Consultancy was heard on LBC's Nick Farrari show this morning with Annabel Karmel talking about Lewisham Council afront on healthy eating.

A family was threatened with having one of their children put into care and denied legal support for following a diet where they ate fish but avoided meat and dairy.

Bishop-Weston described Lewisham Council's behaviour as 'madness'. The child was subsequently found to have a problem absorbing vitamin D, a diagnosis that was delayed by a bizarre witch hunt for vegans. The irony is the family were not even vegetarians as they ate fish.

He said"Lewisham Council should be embracing a diet that has been shown to be far healthier than average rather than persecuting people for it"

"Research in numerous studies reveals that people who eat the most meat and dairy are at a greater risk of preventable chronic disease hence NHS campaigns to encourage people to eat more fruit and vegetables."

The handful of vitamins and minerals available in meat are easily available in plantfoods without the saturated animal fat that can hinder your absorbtion of essential fats.

London Nutritionist Yvonne Bishop-Weston said "Ironically, in our fertility clinics, it's often the meat eaters that are low in things like iron, zinc, vitamin B12, essential fats and key amino acids."

Clegg takes lead in U.K. election: poll

Clegg lands body blow to Cameron Hopes

The political landscape suddenly looks very different as Clegg holds his position at no1 in the polls now creeping up to a week after his performance on TV.

It seems everyone except David Cameron and the Countryside Alliance are now secretly rooting for Clegg and real change.

It's a real body blow for Cameron and the Tories who seemed to think they had it in the bag with the support of Rupert Murdoch's Sun. It just goes to prove you can fool some of the people some of the time.....
